Dr. Lisa Harrington received her medical degree at Boston University School of Medicine in Boston, MA. She completed her internal medicine internship and residency at Northwestern University, Chicago, IL. Following her residency she practiced internal medicine at the University of Texas in San Antonio. Relocating to Rhode Island, she practiced internal medicine at Woman & Infants Hospital in Providence. She then expanded her practice and training into rheumatology, performing a rheumatology fellowship through a Boston University combined program training at hospitals in Providence Rhode Island including Roger Williams Medical Center, Providence Veterans Affairs Medical Center and Rhode Island Hospital. She started practicing rheumatology in Rhode Island at Kent Rheumatology in Warwick before joining Orthopaedic Associates in 2006, where she has now practice for almost 15 years. Dr. Harrington treats adult rheumatic diseases with a special interest in rheumatoid arthritis, lupus (SLE), scleroderma, and osteoarthritis. She is board-certified in rheumatology as well as lifestyle medicine focusing on the exercise, sleep, and nutritional aspects of treatment and prevention. She is also proficient in Spanish and French.
