Dr. Travis Blood obtained his medical degree from the University of Buffalo School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, graduating Summa Cum Laude and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. He completed his Orthopedic Surgery residency at Brown University, where he received numerous awards including Consultant of the Year, Most Valuable Resident Physician, as well as the prestigious Haffenraffer House Staff Award for outstanding commitment to patient care and leadership. Following residency, he continued his training with two additional fellowships; one in Trauma Surgery at Rhode Island Hospital managing acute complex orthopedic trauma injuries; and another in Hand, Upper Extremity and Microvascular Surgery at Harvard University as part of the Harvard Combined Program, where he trained at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Boston Children’s Hospital.
Dr. Blood’s clinical interests include acute upper limb trauma and post-traumatic reconstruction of complex injuries of the hand, wrist, elbow and shoulder. He also cares for a variety of conditions of the upper limb, including sports-related injuries, arthritis, and compression neuropathies. Outside of the hospital Dr. Blood enjoys spending time with his family, especially his energetic toddler-aged daughter, playing golf, ice hockey, and traveling.
